Founded by Nona Ngwenya (Bachelor of Arts Psychology, Sociology) Zuri Manor House is a private press that cultivates a lifestyle better than fiction for persons who read. This is achieved through an elevated literary experience that prioritises quality through handbound collectibles and community through limited releases and events.
The Zuri philosophy, was developed by Nona when she left Johannesburg to live in Ladysmith in 2015 and had to restructure her plans. As she developed herself, she leaned into her strengths of writing and design to build a small business around narratives. Separate from the life she knew, she redefined herself and refined her journey to find a word that carried the essence of her approach to her mission. Soon, "Zuri" was attached to her practice and, years later, it stands in front of the house as a guideline and guardian of perspective, intention and direction.
